We Know Produce
The roots
of SWF Companies can be traced directly back to the
produce industry, as the very first SWF machines were designed to
automatically nail wood boxes together and those boxes were
then used to package and ship produce. In the mid 1960s, SWF
converted those nailing machines into machines that erected
and glued corrugated boxes. Much of that same technology is still used
today and through a series of technological advancements and design improvements,
SWF now has
almost 3,500 produce machines operating throughout the world.
Over the years, SWF
has expanded its product offerings for the produce industry to include
an extensive array of tray, bliss and RSC formers/erectors which are capable
of producing hundreds of
case/tray designs.
Because many of SWF
machines were originally designed to package produce, they feature small
footprints for easy portability and work extremely well within harsh production
environments. A simple, yet rugged design makes these machines easy to
operate, easy to maintain make and perfect for the produce industry.

Common Footprint Machinery
SWF Companies offers a variety of common footprint case and
tray formers. These machines produce
several case and tray sizes designed to facilitate the handling, storage
and shipment of produce and other products on standardized pallets. Mixed
pallets (various types of products on a single pallet) are also possible
with common footprint case / tray designs. Furthermore, these common designs
allow cases and trays from multiple manufacturers to interlock and stack
together, while easily fitting into most in-store refrigeration systems.
Offering vertical
forming solutions, SWF produces (with long dimension first) 600 x 400,
400 x 300 and 500 x 400 mm footprint sized cases and trays. All three
sizes can have various depths, conform to the 5-10 and 6-12 down requirements
and can also be produced half size.
